Blue Mind Weekend
Protect Blue is working alongside Jersey National Park, Eco Active, Plastic Free Jersey, Jersey Sport and Visit Jersey for this year’s World Ocean Day (June 8). The aim is to give as many islanders and visitors access to 'Blue Mind’ as possible.
The science that shows how being near, in, on, or under water can make you happier, healthier, more connected, and better at what you do. - Wallace J Nichols
Jersey offers endless Blue Mind opportunities and enables islanders to make their livelihoods from the sea. World Ocean Day endeavours to celebrate that connection with the local community and visitors.
We're working alongside coastal service partners to offer free & discounted ocean related activities over the weekend of 8 and 9 June. From surf lessons to rock climbing, coastal walks to guided meditation classes, marine conservation education sessions, beach cleans, photography workshops & kayak adventures - there will be a diverse array of activities & special events for islanders to get involved with.

Jersey - Showcasing best practice in ocean advocacy
We believe Jersey has the opportunity to become a leader & mentor island in the ocean advocacy space. We’re creating a free educational resource for all coastal service providers - with the aim to integrate a basic introduction to ocean literacy (understanding the oceans influence on us and our influence on the ocean) and messaging around the importance of protecting our coastlines and ocean into all their sessions.
