Protect Blue is an ocean-focused organisation built around two core pathways - an ocean agency and a blue campus.

As an agency, we partner with NGOs, brands, governments and local communities to deliver strategy, storytelling, education and expeditions that drive meaningful change.

The Blue Campus is a learning space for emerging ocean leaders, grassroots ocean advocates, activists and organisations to build capacity, find clarity, and stay energised in the work. Through workshops, programmes, co-working residencies and tools, we support those at the frontline of ocean conservation to reach their potential - without burning out.

These two sides of Protect Blue are deeply connected: the agency work keeps us sharp and grounded in real-world challenges, while the campus ensures we’re investing in the people behind the projects. Together, they allow us to work both on the system and within it - building strategy, and sustaining stoke.

Nature is our co-facilitator

At Protect Blue, nature is our co-facilitator. We remember our interconnectedness & lean into it with every project we design. Wherever possible, our workshops, retreats & conversations happen outdoors. And of course, we prioritise time to play in the ocean at every opportunity we get.

Make good trouble

John Lewis, the incredible civil rights leader, once said - 'Never, ever be afraid to make some noise, and get in good trouble, necessary trouble'.

For us that means looking at the biggest challenges our planet is facing and having the courage to push against ‘conventional’ thinking, to speak up, and to choose the path unknown in order to imagine and build a regenerative future.

Pass on the spark

It's an electric feeling - having a sense of agency. The spark of knowing that your work can make a dent in something much bigger than you.

It makes the impossible feel possible. It helps you seek out the right people & connect with the right projects. It gives you a greater sense of purpose and a reason to show up every day.

We've realised that when it comes down to it, that's what our work at Protect Blue is all about - raising levels of self efficacy in ocean advocates, leaders, purpose driven businesses, communities, and of course, kids.
